STOP DREAMING OF THE QUIET LIFE ! Donnelly started playing in bands back in Dublin and in the tradition of all Irish would be rockers he busked on Grafton Street and under Merchants Arch in Temple Bar. Hanging out at Freebird Records, TV Club, U2 at the Dandelloin Market, drinking in Bruxelles, the International Bar, McDaids and the Bailey, going to see unknown acts that would become Aslan, the Commitments, meeting Mike Scott on Grafton St., Brian Downey in Slattery's Pub on Capel St and jamming with Glen Hansard. At home, the only records that his father would play Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew, a Dubliner's Dublin.

Dublin rocked when Temple Bar was still a derelict wasteland. Mods & Rockers , Punks & Skins would meet in the city centre to pose and fight. Exciting and scary times. The Jam, The Clash, The Specials ruled. Then Manchester was where it was at Joy Division, Stone Roses, The Smiths,, Oasis. Somewhere around thi stime he dropped the piano lessons and took up guitar but like a lot of musicians the dream of being signed never arrived and his Forever Changes band went their seperate ways. Fast forward or rewind to the year 2000 and a chance meeting with an old band mate reignited the fuse to play LIVE !

Donnelly calculates that since that night he has played over 2000 shows ! It's simple you need to love what you do. You need to play songs that you love. You need to play songs that an audience will know. You need to work at it . You need a wide repertoire and mix of tunes. You need to be able to play you'll need a good voice. You'll need venue owners to take a chance. Repeat.

Now based in Den Haag and playing reguarly in the Netherlands, Antwerp and Bremen Germany,
