De legendarische Britse ska-band Madness komt naar Nederland. Op 12 december viert de band zijn 40-jarig bestaan in de AFAS Live met een speciale, exclusieve XL-show. Het betekent de grootste show op Nederlandse bodem ooit van de populaire groep, die talloze ska-bands inspireerde en wereldhits scoorde als ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘Baggy Trousers’ en ‘Our House’.

Madness is één van de meest succesvolle bands ter wereld. De groep uit Londen staat bekend om de aanstekelijke en unieke mix van ska, reggae, pop, punk en een flinke dosis humor. De band uit Camden Town wordt in 1979 opgericht en breekt datzelfde jaar door met debuutplaat One Step Beyond, met de onvergetelijke hits ‘Night Boat To Cairo’, ‘My Girl’ en ‘One Step Beyond’. In de jaren daarna scoort Madness wereldhit na wereldhit en staat maar liefst 214 weken in de hitlijsten. Liedjes als ‘Our House’, ‘Baggy Trousers’ en ‘Embarassment’ groeien uit tot classics en zijn vandaag de dag nog overal te horen. Ook latere albums als comebackplaat The Liberty Of Norton Folgate (2009), Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da (2012) en hun meest recente album Can’t Touch Us Now (2016) worden goed onthaald, waarbij die laatste zelfs in de Britse top 10 belandt.
40 Jaar Madness
Op 12 december wordt de AFAS Live in Amsterdam omgetoverd tot een waar House of Fun en pakt Madness groots uit met een 40th Anniversary show vol verrassingen. Muzikaal zal worden teruggegrepen op de grote hoeveelheid hits en fanfavorieten in hun omvangrijke oeuvre. Veertig jaar historie, veertig jaar muziek en veertig jaar feest. Kom dit jubileumfeest vieren met Madness en trek je baggy trousers uit de kast, zet one step beyond en pak de night boat to Amsterdam!

British ska band Madness is coming to the Netherlands. On December 12th, the band celebrates its 40th anniversary in the AFAS Live with a special, exclusive XL show. This means the biggest show ever on Dutch soil by the popular group that inspired countless ska bands and scored evergreen hits like "One Step Beyond", "Baggy Trousers" and "Our House".
